December Giveaway

 {First Snow: November 27, 2010}

Oh, gifts to be finished, goodies to be baked, decorations to pull out, family to visit with...

Amidst the business of the season, one needs a quiet moment. A moment of reflection, to ponder the true meaning of the season, to reflect on the simple gifts. To see the beauty of the snow falling outside, the quiet purr of the animals at our feet, the warmth from the woodstove, all filling our souls with goodness.

Tasha knew how to relax. With her single, unique pink luster tea cup, she would take that quiet moment. Every day, always, a moment. But especially now, as the snow lays a quiet blanket over our ambitions for awhile and takes us indoors, we hold all of our memories and blessings close.

(Click on the picture to make it larger and see the designs!)

Now is your chance to win your very own special, single antique pink luster tea cup! We've collected a few special pieces and are giving them away this month. Six winners will win one cup each! A perfect way to enjoy your Tasha Tudor Welsh Breakfast Tea. Enjoy a cup and learn more about Pink Lusterware, one of Tasha's favorites, here.

How to Enter: Leave a comment on the blog with your email address (so we can contact you!!) and the letter of your favorite cup (though we can't guarantee it). We are having a Giveaway of a Yellowware Bowl with Green Seaweed on our blog the Corgyncombe Courant.
    We know that Tasha also had many pieces of Yellowware that she loved!

    A link to Corgyncombe Courant can be found on the sidebar of Rookery Ramblings blog under Blogs We Like.

    We had a foot of snow this morn. It was so lovely and sparkly in the sunshine. The Corgyn were thrilled to run about the paths of the Corg'ery. Most of the time all you could see was their ears.

  72. Cups D and F are my favorites! This is such a great idea! I've been collecting tea cups and tea pots since I was 14 years old (I am 25 now). In fact, my tea cup and tea pot collection were the decorations for my wedding reception four years ago! it was a garden tea party theme wedding reception. I put either 3 or 5 tea cups/pots on each table, and went around them with a few tea light candles and a soft pink flow-y material to tie it all together. Also, pink is my favorite color so many of my tea cups and tea pots are pink! If you want to see pictures of my wedding reception, I'd be happy to send them! One of these would fit very nicely in my collection, plus, I've been fascinated with Tasha Tudor ever since I first heard about her when I was 16! Merry Christmas to you all! Forty two years ago, I bought Take Joy for my soon to be born son and, thus, discovered the Tudor Family. Tasha signed that book many years later in Nashville and that baby boy turned 42 last week! Merry Christmas and Take Joy! newsweden@aol.com

  110. My husband and I truly enjoy having tea together. We had planned to visit Tasha Tudor's gardens when we received the news that she had passed away. I just loved Tasha Tudor and was devastated.But we decided to go anyway and got all the way to the airport check-in desk to find out that our flight had
    been cancelled. What a disappointment. It would have been a first time flight for me. My husband and I only married 3 years. We met in a bereavemnt group, he had been married 44 years and I, 47. He is now 84 and I am 72 and God placed us together. What a delight it would be to have tea together in one of your beautiful cups. It would really make our Christmas. Thank you for sending ANY of them,
    if I have to choose, my choice would be "D".
